For some time the Loginconsultants site did not work 100% under IE7. The team went away and completely rebuilt their site and damn, they did an awesome job.

Go to www.loginconsultants.com and take a look at the new site.

Loginconsultants are most famous for their Flex Profile Kit and ReconnAct as well as their True Control Template.Flex profiles in short are Flexible mandatory profiles. They take the stability and size of a mandatory profile and by using Proflwiz.exe turns your mandatory profile into a customizable profile. Configuration is pretty simple.

You create a mandatory profile,

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;323368

explains the procedure to create a profile. Once you have your mandatory profile you will assign it to a user account under their Terminal Services profile tab.

Next step is configuring the folders to be redirected see Page 6 of the Flex Profile Kit Admin guide for information on how to do that. I would recommend redirecting Application Data, Desktop, Favorites, MY Pircutes, My Documents,Recent, Templates and in some cases Start Menu. This will all be set Once you are happy with your folder redirection and your profile you will need to configure your ini files. Sample INI files are provided with the flex profile kit. I would
recommend using these to start with as they cover most aspects of a standard user environment.

**Note: You will most likely update the INI file again later, this is merely a template to get you started**

Now you must created logon and logoff scripts. The flex profile kit admin guide includes sample

logoff scripts which are:

Logon Script:

Copy /Y H:\appdata\MySettings.ops "%temp%\MySettings.ops"
C:\PROFLWIZ\proflwiz.exe /r "%temp%\MySettings.ops" /q Logoff:
C:\PROFLWIZ\proflwiz.exe /s "%temp%\MySettings.ops" /i C:\PROFLWIZ\example.INI /q
copy /Y "%temp%\MySettings.ops" H:\appdata\MySettings.opsOnce you have done all of this

logon as your test user ensure all the exe files, ini files, etc have been copied to the folders specified in your scripts. Now logon using a test user account and check that everything is configured correctly.

You will now want to run regshot to get a baseline config. Now launch the various applications, configure your settings and then run regshot again. Add the registry keys which are modified to the INI files and you should be good to go.

Note that this document is purely a quick overview and for more information you should read the flex profile kit admin guide and post questions on the loginconsultants and brianmadden forums.
